Northridge Knit Shawl Free Pattern

I love fast knits, like I really love them! I have to admit that when I am knitting something that takes more than a day or 2, I start to get really impatient. This shawl is instant gratification using super bulky yarn and big knitting needles!

This shawl features the granite stitch which is a great intro to lace knitting without needing too much concentration.  It is perfect for the beginner looking to branch out with their knitting skills but simple enough to not be too frustrating or overwhelming.

I used approximately 770 yards of super bulky weight yarn. Specifically, the Thick and Quick Bonus Bundle in Oxford Grey From Lion Brand Yarn, and size 17 needles, which means this shawl knits up in no time!

Below are some yarn options that I think would make great substitutes. Any super bulky weight yarn will work, so if you have a favorite go-to, share it with us in the comments on this post!

The pattern gives options to customize your shawl just how you’d like- add pockets, a hood and fringe but don’t let your creativity stop there! You could even add a faux fur pom or a tassel to the tip of the hood!
