Winter Solstice Head Wrap

I created this cute little winter accessory for my local yarn shop last year and realized I never shared the pattern here! I love this head wrap because it is so quick to knit and keeps your ears warm without messing up your hair.

Supplies:

US 7 (4.5mm) knitting needles

1 roll of Premier Coffee Shop Yarn (I used Sandstone) or any other light DK or light worsted yarn of choice. Pattern uses approximately 125 yards.

Yarn needle

Pattern Notes:

Head band is knit on back and forth into a long strip. Ends are sewn together in a way to give a twisted look. Pictures have been included to show how to finish headband. Finished head band is 4 inches wide. Width of head band can be adjusted by casting on less stitches for a narrower band or more stitches for a wider band. The amount of stitches will need to be an odd number.

Abbreviations:

K - Knit P - Purl

Pattern:

Cast on 31 stitches

Row 1: K1 (P1, K1) repeat till the end of row

Row 2: P1 (K1, P1) repeat till the end of row

Continue repeating rows 1 and 2 until piece measures 20 ½ inches

Bind off

Finishing:

Sew the cast on and bind off edges as shown below. Weave in ends and enjoy!

Happy Knitting!
