Mini PB&J but Hold the Crust

Sometimes I’m inspired by the most random things and get an idea in my head that just won’t go away! Today’s randomness has brought you this, a crocheted uncrustable. Loved by both kids and adults this little guy is sure to bring a smile to your face.

Supplies:

  • I (5.5mm) crochet hook

  • Size 6 Super Bulky Yarn of choice
I used Bernat Blanket in Antique White for the bread
    Mustard for the peanut butter

Small amount of dark purple from my stash for the jelly

Small amount of pale pink from my stash for the cheeks

Black crochet cotton for the mouth

  • Fiberfill Stuffing

  • Yarn Needle

  • 8mm safety eyes (optional)

Pattern Notes:

Pattern is made in two pieces and then crocheted together. The only sewing involved are the facial features and the peanut butter section after stuffing your project. Finished size 4 in. This pattern can be made with other yarn weights just be sure to adjust hook size accordingly.

Abbreviations:

MR - Magic Ring
SC - Single Crochet
INC - Increase by doing two single crochets in the same stitch.
SLST - Slip Stitch
HDC INC - Increase by doing two half double crochets in the same stitch.

Pattern: (Make 2)

Round 1: Starting with Antique White SC 8 in MR (8)

Round 2: INC in every stitch (16)

Round 3: (SC, INC) repeat around (24)

Round 4: SC 19, change to Mustard and SC 5 (24)

Finish off and leave the tail long enough to sew the small section of Mustard closed later in the pattern. You will only need to do this for one of the sides.

Add eyes in desired location, I put mine on round 2 with two stitches in between. Add cheeks and smile.

Finishing:

Hold your two pieces together making sure the right sides are out and the peanut butter sections are matched up. Starting with white, SLST into the first white stitch to the left of the peanut butter making sure to go through both pieces.

(HDC INC in next ST, SLST in next ST) repeat around. Stop with a SLST in the last white stitch to the right of the peanut butter. Fasten off.

Stuff your sandwich lightly and use the mustard yarn tail to sew the peanut butter section closed.

Use your purple yarn to stitch on some jelly right in the middle of your peanut butter section.

Weave in any ends and viola you have your very own cute crocheted uncrustable!

These are perfectly sized for keychains or backpack buddies.

Happy Crocheting!
